Firmly Grounded

The tree that persists on the battered cliff is immovable. It stands on a rock securely grounded, its roots firmly clasping at every crevice. They stretch forth tiny tendrils, enclosing like a net around and through the massive stone. The roots thicken and grow, constantly nourished but always thirsty. It stands tall. Though harrowed by wind and by sea, it is unshakable. Even so, our faith must be.
