Soldier, you, in need of shield;
this warrior of the Word;
Draw near to Christ, be close to Him:
a defense, be your Sovereign Lord.
When foes abound and dark helms in,
let not your thoughts be grim:
for they who would draw near to you,
must then contend with Him!
