Stand up, stand up! You soldier yet weak!
Who ever convinced you that strength's what you seek?
Who, armored in Word, by Christ and by Sword,
fights long in the battle, upheld by the Lord.
But, hold now, brave soldier, and savor them not,
those victories you've conquered and valiantly fought.
For loss will soon follow, and with it, despair,
should these small battles dictate how you fare.
In loss, fret not; rejoice, in each good!
For each day well fought is one day well stood.
And hope in this truth: the war is not done,
but victory’s sure, for Christ has all won.
